Iran said its response to new US threats would be devastating; armed forces chief of staff Ali Abdollahi said the reaction would be broad and decisive. Parliament speaker Ghalibaf said the US appeared to have concluded it could not win militarily, but acknowledged the country would not survive if people go hungry.
