Iran is not holding talks with the United States.
Open Claimed by Government of Iran on 3 August 2026.
The statement
Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Iran was not holding talks with the United States and had no plans to host or send delegations, and that it was discussing with Oman a temporary safe route through the strait with one path of entry and exit lanes. He said a deal with Oman would not fully reopen the strait while what he called US aggression continued.
