At his first public hearing on the war, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said the Pentagon put the war's cost at 25 billion dollars, mostly munitions, and said Iran's nuclear facilities had been 'obliterated' in 2025; Joint Chiefs Chairman Dan Caine cited 14 US military deaths.
