The IRGC Navy said tankers exploded and caught fire after hitting mines on 30 October; the relays differ on the count. Al Jazeera reported the IRGC as saying two tankers, each carrying over two million barrels, exploded and caught fire after hitting mines; AP reported Iran as saying four tankers caught fire after striking mines, one of them a supertanker carrying over two million barrels; Radio Farda reported one IRGC statement of four tankers, one carrying two million barrels.
