US Senate adopts House-passed Iran war powers resolution in a non-binding rebuke of Trump
Confirmedon an admission by the acting party plus an independent origin: 1 distinct origin, 1 tied to no party.
The Senate on Tuesday 23 June adopted a concurrent war powers resolution on Iran that the House had passed earlier in June, with Republicans Bill Cassidy, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and Rand Paul voting in favour, ABC News reported. As a concurrent resolution it does not carry the force of law. A White House official said the vote had 'no significance', blamed 'Republican absences' and argued hostilities ended with the April ceasefire.
