CENTCOM said on the night of 5 June that it shot down four Iranian one-way attack drones launched toward the Strait of Hormuz, which it said posed an immediate threat to maritime traffic, and then struck Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites at Goruk and on Qeshm Island 'to defend against further attacks'. It said no US personnel were harmed. The IRGC said the clash began when US-backed tankers tried to pass through Hormuz without coordinating with it, and Iran's foreign ministry called the US attacks a flagrant violation of the April ceasefire. No casualty figures for the radar sites were given.
