Qatar's foreign ministry said US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner reached Doha on 30 June to meet Qatari mediators, and its spokesman said they 'are not here for their negotiations with the Iranians', with talks to cover regional issues including Lebanon, Euronews reported. Tehran said it was sending its own delegation but had not agreed to meet US officials 'at any level'. France's President Emmanuel Macron said France and Oman would work on demining the strait, while Iran's deputy foreign minister Kazem Gharibabadi said demining could be done 'solely by Iran', and Oman and Iran held a first joint committee meeting on strait management in Muscat, The National reported. A Qatari spokesman said no direct US-Iran talks took place in Doha and that $6 billion in frozen Iranian assets had not been transferred, Khaleej Times reported.
