The Israeli military issued an evacuation warning for most of Tyre and its surroundings on 7 June, and civil defence teams moved about 500 families from school shelters to the city's Christian quarter, which was not covered, AFP reported via Al-Monitor. On 9 June the order was widened to the whole city including the Christian quarter, telling residents to move north of the Zahrani River. Lebanon's health ministry said at least 131 rescuers had been killed in the war.
