The unit that manages camps for internally displaced people in Yemen said 197,906 people in 29,519 families had been officially registered as of 30 September, with more than 97,000 housed in Taiz province and more than 50,000 in Lahij, Al Jazeera reported, citing government figures. Government forces said they repelled a large Houthi assault on several Taiz fronts and killed at least 30 Houthi fighters on one front, a figure not independently verified. Saudi Arabia approved 224 million riyals ($59.7m) in budget support for the government.
