Iran's government said it had started a process to bring internet access back to a "pre-war level" after a nationwide shutdown imposed at the start of the war, Al Jazeera reported; state media said President Pezeshkian ordered access restored. A limited reopening was under way by 27 May, ending more than 2,000 hours of near-total shutdown, but millions of pages and platforms including Instagram, Telegram, WhatsApp and YouTube stayed blocked and hardliners won a court order suspending the body that ordered the reopening. The old tracker described the change as a lifting of the blackout on 27 May with social media restored.
