IRGC says it coordinated 26 vessels through Hormuz in 24 hours; Iran's new strait authority maps a permit zone

The IRGC said in a statement carried by ISNA that 26 vessels, including tankers and container ships, transited the Strait of Hormuz in the previous 24 hours "with permission and in coordination with the IRGC Navy". Iran's new Persian Gulf Strait Authority published a map of a controlled zone, from Kuh-e Mubarak to south of Fujairah in the east and from Qeshm Island to Umm al-Quwain in the west, and said transit without its authorisation would be illegal. Coastal states other than Iran do not recognise such a permit regime.
