Lavrov holds talks in Tehran, his first visit since the war began; Araghchi says Iran sees "no military solution"

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran on 19 October and said Russia was prepared to "assist in finding acceptable negotiated solutions", The National reported. Araghchi said Iran saw "no military solution" and called for a new regional security arrangement. Al Jazeera said it was Lavrov's first visit to Tehran since the war began in February.
