Israel strikes Qasmiyeh bridge over the Litani; Aoun calls bridge strikes a prelude to ground invasion

Israeli forces struck the Qasmiyeh bridge, a key crossing linking southern Lebanon to the rest of the country, and President Joseph Aoun called the strikes on bridges a prelude to a ground invasion, Al Jazeera reported. Defence minister Katz had ordered the military to destroy all crossings over the Litani and homes near the border. Lebanon's health ministry said four people were killed in two strikes in the south that day and put the toll at 1,029 killed, with more than one million displaced. A Human Rights Watch researcher told Reuters that wholesale destruction of homes would amount to wanton destruction, a war crime.
