Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority said the container ship GFS Pride was damaged and set on fire in an attack on 13 October and later sank, with all 21 crew evacuated unhurt, gCaptain reported. A second Singapore-flagged ship, GFS Giselle, was struck on 14 October Singapore time and reached anchorage with its 22 crew safe. Maritime security sources told Reuters the GFS Pride was hit by a projectile; Iran said, without evidence, that it struck a mine. gCaptain said it appeared to be the second confirmed sinking of a large ocean-going ship in the war.
