Two Iranian men were charged with preparing acts of terrorism against the Jewish community in Manchester at the behest of a figure believed to be in Iran, and appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court, The National reported. A prosecutor said they carried out surveillance of targets including the Manchester Jewish Museum and Heaton Park synagogue and planned to use a home-made explosive device. The case came days after the UK prime minister said there were strong indications of Iranian involvement in an alleged plot at RAF Fairford; Iran has denied plotting attacks in Britain.
