Oil prices dropped about 7 percent on 10 March after US President Donald Trump told CBS on 9 March that the war would be over "very soon", according to Reuters market reporting carried by Offshore Engineer. Brent had risen above $119 a barrel on 9 March, the highest since 2022, on fears for supply through the Strait of Hormuz. Market reports put Brent near $90 during the fall, still well above its level before the war began on 28 February.
