Iranian authorities hanged three men in Mashhad who had been arrested in the January protests and whom state media called Mossad agents, and the judiciary and security bodies said on state TV they would act against the enemy's mercenaries without leniency, Al Jazeera reported. The judiciary said assets of 22 people it called traitors were seized in Semnan province. The UN said at the end of April that at least 21 people had been executed and more than 4,000 arrested on national security charges since the war began; rights groups say trials are unfair, which Iran rejects.
