UNHCR said on 20 October more than 250,000 people had been internally displaced in Yemen since the war reignited in July, with Taiz accounting for 76 percent of departures and hosting 52 percent of the newly displaced, Al Jazeera reported. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk said the Houthis' closure of the only supply route linking Taiz to Aden "is placing civilians at grave risk" and that aid must be let in.
