IRGC says it seized the Barbados-registered tanker Ocean Koi in the Gulf of Oman

Confirmedon an admission by the acting party plus an independent origin: 1 distinct origin, 1 tied to no party.

Iran's navy and the IRGC said they seized the tanker Ocean Koi, registered in Barbados, in the Gulf of Oman, saying it had tried to disrupt Iran's oil exports; state-owned Press TV showed forces boarding it, Al Jazeera reported. Al Jazeera's Tehran correspondent said it was not the first IRGC seizure and linked it to a new Iranian body, the Persian Gulf Strait Authority, which would require clearance, cargo details and fees from ships. Lloyd's List reported the authority's creation on 7 May, AP said, and Secretary of State Rubio called it unacceptable.
