Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi called on 17 October for an emergency parliamentary session to authorise him to approve any Saudi request for help, saying Egypt would "carry out any measure to protect" the kingdom and was "speaking only for defence", Al Jazeera reported. The Saudi-led coalition said the same day it intercepted four drones over Riyadh, the Eastern Province and the south.
