UKMTO said unauthorised personnel boarded a vessel at anchor about 38 nautical miles northeast of Fujairah at 0545 GMT on Thursday 14 May, after which it lost contact; maritime security sources named it as the Honduras-flagged Hui Chuan, which risk firm Vanguard said was used as a floating armoury for private security teams and was reportedly bound for Iranian waters, Marine Insight reported. No country claimed the seizure. Iran's judiciary spokesperson said Iran had the legal right to seize US-linked tankers.
