Brent crude fell to its lowest level in three months on 16 June and traded at about $79.46 a barrel early on 17 June in Asia, below $80 for the first time since 2 March, Asia Economy reported; WTI was about $76.57. The paper tied the slide to the US-Iran agreement to end hostilities and to a Wall Street Journal report that Washington would issue waivers letting Iran export oil once a memorandum was signed. Goldman Sachs cut its fourth-quarter Brent forecast to $80, the paper said.
