Marsh: Hormuz tanker war-risk rates were about 0.25% of hull value before the war and set to at least double

Marsh's Marcus Baker told Semafor that war-risk rates for most oil tankers in the region had been around 0.25% of a ship's value before the weekend's strikes, and that he expected them to reach at least double that within about a day. He said the market had not settled on a rate and dismissed some very high quotes as nonsense. Baker recalled a 5% rate for ships in the Black Sea at the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
