Kuwait's Foreign Ministry said Deputy Foreign Minister Hamad Suleiman Al-Mashaan summoned Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Toutounchi and handed him a protest note over an Iranian embassy statement, which the ministry called blatant interference in Kuwait's affairs and judiciary, KUNA and Iran International reported. The embassy had rejected the claim that an Iranian citizen was involved in the assassination plot for which a Kuwaiti court sentenced three men to death on 26 October.
