The Shin Bet said on Thursday it had opened a bounded investigation into possible foreign influence on Israel's election, CBS News reported, after Netanyahu's Likud party said in a statement that the election had been stolen by Arab-majority parties with foreign funding and named Iran among the fronts at stake. The Central Elections Committee's acting director-general, Din Livne, wrote that there was no basis to claims of a systematic compromise of the election's integrity. Qatar's foreign ministry spokesman Majed Al Ansari denied any Qatari interference. Final results had left Netanyahu's bloc short of a majority.
