Iranian negotiators were in Doha for Qatar-mediated talks after more than 12 hours of talks with Qatari mediators in Tehran, an official told Reuters, as reported by The Times of Israel and Fox News. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told Al Jazeera that the letter from US Vice President Vance had been discussed at high level and that there were no plans for meetings with US officials, and Fox News's account had him saying there was no need to meet Americans at present. Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, citing mediation sources, reported that the sides had agreed on preliminary measures and that a US delegation would join Iranian officials for direct talks in Doha; a US official told The Times of Israel that no breakthrough had occurred and that there was no plan for US mediators to join the talks in Doha. The talks followed a Qatari delegation's arrival in Tehran the day before.
