Russia and Ukraine exchanged 200 soldiers each on 5 March and 300 each on 6 March, for 500 on each side, in a swap Russia's defence ministry said was mediated by the United States and the UAE. Russian negotiator Vladimir Medinsky announced the agreement, and Zelensky confirmed the exchange, saying 'We do not forget anyone'. It was the second exchange of 2026, after 5 February.
