The UN refugee agency said 1,002,860 people had left Ukraine since 24 February, the fastest exodus its head Filippo Grandi said he had seen in almost 40 years of refugee work. Poland had received more than half of them, with large numbers also in Hungary, Moldova, Slovakia and Romania. UNHCR noted the count includes non-Ukrainians who had been living in the country. It warned millions more could follow.
