Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said an attack on 17 July caused a fire that damaged many electricity generation units at a power and water desalination plant, Al Jazeera reported; the fire was put out and citizens were urged to ration electricity. Kuwait's military said 32 drones targeted vital facilities and caused material damage. About 90 percent of Kuwait's water comes from desalination. The IRGC said it hit a US base in Kuwait the same morning, naming a missile defence radar, weapons depots and two HIMARS launchers; it did not claim the plant.
