Russia's defence ministry said its Black Sea Fleet patrol ship Vasily Bykov fired warning shots at the Palau-flagged cargo ship Sukru Okan after it ignored requests to stop for inspection for prohibited goods. It said a boarding team was landed by helicopter, the ship was inspected and then allowed to continue to Ukraine's port of Izmail. It was the first such boarding reported since Russia left the grain deal.
