Second Istanbul round: sides exchange ceasefire memoranda and agree to swap all sick and wounded prisoners

Russian and Ukrainian delegations met again in Istanbul on 2 June and ended without a ceasefire, but agreed to exchange all seriously wounded and sick prisoners and young soldiers aged 18 to 25, at least 1,000 in total, the Guardian reported. Russia's delegation head Vladimir Medinsky said Moscow's memorandum set out steps toward a full ceasefire and proposed short local truces to collect bodies; Russian state agency RIA said one option required Ukraine to withdraw from four regions Russia partly occupies. Zelensky said Ukraine handed over a list of nearly 400 children it says Russia abducted and that Russia agreed to work on returning ten.
