Donetsk regional prosecutors said Russian artillery fire on Kostiantynivka between 10:30 and 11:50 on 3 September killed eight civilians, and governor Vadym Filashkin said drones later hit two civilian vehicles, killing a woman; seven people were injured in all. The DeepState monitoring group said the town was by then surrounded by Russian forces on three sides, and residents had lived for months largely without electricity, gas or a stable water supply. Kostiantynivka, south of Kramatorsk, was a main target of Russia's Donetsk offensive through the second half of 2025.
