Iraq's National Security Council, chaired by Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, called the US-Saudi strikes 'a flagrant violation of Iraq's sovereignty' at an emergency meeting on 29 July, and al-Zaidi cancelled his first official visit to Saudi Arabia planned for 30 July, Al Jazeera reported. An Iraqi military spokesperson said no party had provided evidence that attacks were launched from Iraq. Kataib Hezbollah gave the government until 6 August to show it can defend Iraqi sovereignty and said a response was 'inevitable', and PMF supporters rallied in Baghdad demanding the Saudi ambassador's expulsion.
