Iran's central military command said on 18 April that the Strait of Hormuz had returned to 'strict management' by the armed forces, reversing the previous day's reopening and citing the continuing US blockade of Iranian ports, AFP reported. Kpler data showed at least eight oil and gas tankers crossed early that day before several turned back near Larak Island, and four CMA CGM container ships made U-turns around 10:00 GMT, AFP said. BIMCO advised companies to consider avoiding the area, citing mine risks.
