Seven OPEC+ producers agree a further 188,000 barrel a day output rise for September

Reportedon one origin only: 1 distinct origin, 0 tied to no party.

Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria and Oman agreed after a virtual meeting to raise production quotas by about 188,000 barrels per day for September, part of unwinding voluntary cuts first announced in April 2023, the Qatar News Agency reported from their joint statement. The statement did not mention the UAE, which left OPEC in May. Much Gulf output remains shut in by the Hormuz closure, so quota rises do not translate fully into supply.
