Yemeni government spokesman Majed al-Nazili told the state Saba agency that forces struck Houthi vehicles and fighters on the Mokha-Dhubab road 11 km from the city and had begun shelling parts of Mokha, urging civilians to avoid the main roads, AFP reported. A local official said Mokha's seaport was hit by six missiles of unknown origin. Many residents fled to Aden after the Houthis took the city on 10 September; sources on both sides put deaths in the offensive above 500.
