UN Development Programme administrator Alexander De Croo said on 23 April that the war could push more than 30 million people back into poverty even if fighting stopped immediately, and that 0.5 to 0.8 percent of global GDP had already been wiped out, Al Jazeera reported. He said fuel and fertiliser disruption from the Hormuz closure had already cut farm productivity; the FAO lists India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Kenya and Egypt as most at risk.
