The chief executive of Iran's national electricity company reported a 4,200 MW drop in grid capacity and damage at more than 2,000 points across the network, Al Jazeera reported from Tehran on 19 July. Local media reported US strikes on a power plant on Kish Island and severe damage to distribution networks in Bandar Abbas, Jask and Chabahar. Industrial zones face four to six hours of blackouts a day, a former head of Iran's chamber of commerce said, and residents told Al Jazeera outages threaten patients on home ventilators. Tehran's council chair said many electrical facilities had been bombed two days earlier.
