Houthi forces take the Red Sea port city of Mokha near Bab al-Mandab, Yemeni government sources say
Reportedon one origin only: 1 distinct origin, 1 tied to no party.
Three Yemeni government sources told Reuters that Houthi forces took control of the government-held Red Sea city of Mokha, advancing toward the Bab al-Mandab strait, and witnesses told AFP they saw fighters entering the city. The Houthi-run Saba agency said Saudi aircraft carried out about 40 strikes in Taiz, Hodeidah, Al-Jawf and Marib in the preceding hours. The Houthi offensive toward the strait began on 3 September; Bab al-Mandab has become a key outlet for Saudi crude while Hormuz is largely shut.
