After reports on 16 July that Ukrainian troops had left Krynky, the village in Kherson Oblast where they had held a foothold on the left bank of the Dnipro since October 2023, Ukraine's Defence Forces of the South said most of its main positions there were destroyed and the village almost razed, but that combat missions continued and troops stayed on designated bridgeheads. Ukrainska Pravda, citing Marine Corps sources, reported the withdrawal had happened weeks earlier. The Krynky foothold had been Ukraine's only notable position across the river.
