A drone crashed and exploded in a cornfield near the village of Osiny in eastern Poland at about 2 a.m. on 20 August, breaking windows in nearby houses; the Polish Press Agency reported no injuries. Defence minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said it was a Russian drone and another provocation by Russia, and the foreign ministry described it as a Russian variant of the Shahed design. Poland's operational command said it had recorded no airspace violation from Ukraine or Belarus that night. The incident came three weeks before the mass drone incursion of 10 September.
