US strikes on the night of 8 July hit Iranshahr, Bandar Abbas, Konarak, Chabahar, Bushehr and Aq Qala in the northeast, Al Jazeera reported, and CENTCOM said early on 9 July it had struck 90 military targets including air defences, coastal surveillance, missile and drone storage and naval capabilities. IRNA said a firefighter was killed at Iranshahr airport. Iranian authorities said three railway bridges were hit, including one on the Tehran-Mashhad line, and called it a war crime; BBC Verify confirmed damage to a port control tower in Chabahar and a railway bridge in Aq Qala. Iran had said on 8 July it would no longer distinguish between the US and its regional allies, the Guardian reported.
