A gunman in military uniform from Lebanon opened fire on Israeli troops in a military zone about 1,200 metres from Margaliot on the afternoon of 9 June and was shot dead, the IDF said; no soldiers were hurt. The IDF had not determined whether he was linked to Hezbollah or another group. The Times of Israel said it was the first infiltration from Lebanon since January 2024.
