Iran's army said in a statement carried by state TV that it attacked locations at Al Minhad air base in the UAE where US forces and helicopters were stationed with drones early on 31 August, in retaliation for the killing of IRGC members and civilians on Larak Island, Reuters reported via The Times of Israel. The UAE defence ministry said its air force responded to a drone approaching from Iran over the country's territorial waters, AFP reported; the tracker cited Al Jazeera as saying the UAE rejected the claim of an attack on the base.
