The Financial Times, citing Iranian insiders, reported that Tehran has considered targeting US military sites in Europe, naming Bulgaria and Cyprus, and undersea cables under the Strait of Hormuz, if the US escalates, The Times of Israel reported. Iran did not publicly confirm the plans. A NATO official told CNN the alliance is prepared to address any threat and defend all allies, Iran International reported. The same day Iran's armed forces chief of staff Ali Abdollahi warned Gulf states that helping the US military would count as joining its operations.
