Drone strikes the US-owned Energos Winter at Egypt's Damietta port; fire spreads to a second LNG ship

Disputedon credible origins that conflict: 2 distinct origins, 2 tied to no party.

A drone hit the Marshall Islands-flagged floating storage and regasification unit Energos Winter, owned by a US company, at Egypt's Mediterranean port of Damietta on 29 July, and the fire spread to the LNG tanker Gaslog Salem, Euronews and The Times of Israel reported, citing maritime security firms Ambrey and Vanguard. Both crews were evacuated, Egypt's petroleum ministry said there were no injuries, and Egypt's cabinet confirmed on 30 July that a drone caused the fire. No one claimed the attack; Iranian state TV had named Damietta as a possible target two days earlier after Ukraine's Caspian strike, but Foreign Minister Araghchi denied involvement and warned of Israeli 'false-flag operations'. It was the first attack on Egyptian soil in the war.
