Two days of trilateral talks in Geneva end without a breakthrough

Confirmedon two or more distinct origins, at least one tied to no party: 2 distinct origins, 2 tied to no party.

US-mediated talks between Ukraine and Russia took place in Geneva on 17 and 18 February, the third round since January, with Vladimir Medinsky newly leading Russia's team and Rustem Umerov leading Ukraine's. Medinsky called them difficult but businesslike; Zelensky said the military track had advanced while the political track was limited and accused Russia of dragging out talks. Russia continued to demand a Ukrainian withdrawal from Donbas, which Kyiv rejects, and a US idea for joint operation of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant was discussed. The second day ended after about two hours, and no date was set for another round.
