Iran sent its response to the US 14-point proposal through Pakistan on 10 May; IRNA said Iran wanted a first stage focused on ending hostilities and maritime security in the Gulf and Hormuz, and an Iranian source told Al Jazeera it also covered Lebanon, the nuclear file and sanctions. About two hours after another post, Trump wrote on Truth Social that he had read the response and found it totally unacceptable. Al Jazeera reported that the US text asked Iran to halt enrichment for at least 12 years and hand over its roughly 440kg of 60% enriched uranium in return for gradual sanctions relief, release of frozen assets and an end to the blockade.
