Russia's defence ministry said 16 drones attacked Black Sea Fleet ships near Sevastopol early on 29 October, blamed Ukraine with help from British specialists, and suspended its participation in the grain deal; Britain rejected the claim and Ukraine did not confirm the attack. US President Joe Biden called the suspension outrageous. Russia rejoined on 2 November, saying it had received written guarantees from Kyiv that the corridor would not be used for military operations.
