Romania confirms fragments of a Russian attack drone landed on its territory across the Danube from Izmail

Reportedon one origin only: 1 distinct origin, 1 tied to no party.

Romania's defence ministry said fragments of a Russian Geran-type drone were found near Plauru, across the Danube from the Ukrainian port of Izmail, a day after Romania scrambled F-16s during a Russian drone attack on Izmail district. The ministry condemned the attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure. A NATO spokesperson said there was no information pointing to an intentional attack on allied territory but called the incidents irresponsible and potentially dangerous. Debris from drones aimed at Ukraine's Danube ports had landed in Romania before.
